Can anyone send messages to people in the nslclangroup if they are not on your friends list? This was possible when there were <150 members but now you have to go to the group page and click people's profiles and the "send a message" button doesn't seem to do anything when you click it. Just me? This makes the group way less useful.

Maybe it's time to have a cull to get it back under 150? Each clan should only have 1 player in the group perhaps? You could remove all the general members and make a news post for all active clans to re-add only 1 player each, looks to me like there are several clans with multiple people in the group and also some people that I know are no longer active in NS2.

Unless there is a way to send messages to people who are not on your friends list and I'm just missing it?

That should be the way, and it seems to work for me. My friends list is full.
Cleaning it for season 2 and giving those requirements is probably a great idea :)

I can message people in groups that have <150 members, but not people in the ENSL group. Maybe it works for you because you are in other groups with them?

I have seen threads on the steam forums that you cannot message people in groups that are >150 members as an anti-phishing precaution.

Just like foot and mouth disease there is only one course of action: cull cull cull!

why dont we get rid of everyone except for teamleaders and 1 extra ? i think we have ~100 active teams so we should be fine. we also dont need every ref and admin in the group since some already have almost everyone on their friendslist.

Maybe we do 4 steam groups instead as workaround:

ENSL Admins
ENSL Referees
ENSL Team captains A-N
ENSL Team captains O-Z

Basically keep the groups small enough for instant message feature with an easy lookup method.

If you're going to sort captains you might as well do it per region or per division, I think it's more relevant ?

Yeh I thought about suggesting multiple, smaller groups but obviously messaging between groups is impossible.

Maybe you could just make a new group for each season so that way it's unlikely to fill up with inactive players and maybe also try to limit to number of admins and refs in there to the most active people.

I think the single group is fine, as its more effective to invite everyone to a single chat (i.e. the group chat), rather than trying to message individual members in multiple steam chats.
