Do any of you use a different sensitivity for alien/marine?
I'd like to lower mine a bit for marine but that might affect my division 1, top 5 ranked fade.
I asked dugi about it and he mumbled something about having to move his hand 3 feet whilst fading and then drifted off into some latin fever shit and I couldn't understand him. Thoughts?

Just make yourselve 2 configs one for marine one for alien !
just name the cfgs marine and alien and stuff ... that is how u execute them when joining teams 8) !
alias marine "exec marine.cfg;jointeamone"
alias alien "exec alien.cfg;jointeamtwo"
alias command "exec command.cfg;say My shit always works sometimes!!"
alias pcw "exec pcw.cfg"
bind "f1" "marine"
bind "f2" "alien"
bind "f3" "spectate"
bind "f4" "readyroom"
bind "f5" "command"
bind "f6" "pcw"
(yes i just copied it out of my userconfig 8) )
Enjoy sucka !
Also there is that one variable which defines the amount of difference between alien and marine sensitivity. In other words alien and marine don't have the same sensitivity as default. I think the default value was 0.2, but maybe someone can even name it. Danny?

switching from higher to lower sensitivity will most likely affect your aiming at marines, so i reccomdend you one sensitivity for both sides.
It's a shame because my lerking is dogshit now that my sensitivity is lower.

Vartija is right.
zoom_sensitivity_ratio "1.2"
Setting it to 1.0 will give marines and alien same sense. Default is 1.2.

Alien higher. If you set it to 1.0, you will feel that your skulks sense is lower than normal.

God you're a spastic Eistee. Two people mention it and suddenly NOBODY knows how it works?
And even if they didn't, would it be particularly hard to figure out for yourself? NO, YOU MONG

I use the same very high sensitivity for both alien and marine, with the 1.2 ratio. Also I think if you change your fps_max it indirectly affects your sensitivity.
Im fairly sure this zoom_sense is bullshit. Afaik it's down to the skulks and marines having different default FOVs. Apparently there was a way to fix this by using a changed fov value ingame (doesnt change the fixed fov but uses it to work the sense out) as a_civilian posted on the ns forums a few years back. But tbh... I just use the same sense and it's kinda useful that the skulks is higher naturally as it makes movement easier :p

default_fov 108 gibbz.
always keep in mind that this only affects sensitivity. the fov you get is hardcoded, hence ns not being widescreen cabaple.

Just test it, it does actually change (alien)sensetivity. Also as saebel pointed out, changing FOV only leads to changed sensetivity, but tha applies for both alien and marine.

well lets be straight forward here. this discussion is complete useless bullshit.
the matter at hand is i lost my pink-heart-ch.spr for my progorge. that gives a w20+9001 chance of missing spits anyway.
also: anybody else noticing how theres a tiny wee lil bit of mouseaccel left in win7 with the razordriver? i hate it, i hate it and blame danny!

you already pointed me to that once, when i had already tried all "fixes" those csniblets found for win7.
it lowers accel in different amounts, but wont get rid of it completly.
all my old quakerbuddies have the same prob. you only notice it when playing with a normal sensitivity. (1-1.5cm for a 180)
switching to a fucking shit lowsens helps, but 3cms for a 180? jebus, i wanna play, not let my mouse run a marathon!

Can you confirm acceleration with the "MouseMovementRecorder.exe" or is it just placebo? Ie run the program and see if you actually get any "reds" with high sens. Its included with the win7 fix.
I can see why one would want to remove accell with that sens. On the other hand having some accell with "superslow" 5cm/180 can actually be good thing.
