Twitch Cast POV of Clip

So this was the only clip I remembered to grab with ShadowPlay from our match the other day. Although there is nothing really impressive from my POV I thought it demonstrates a good example of the sense of urgency and timings when it comes to ending the game. To set this up, we had just killed a Fade and established a gate in 'Staging' after killing the 'Exchange' hive and were starting to push their main hive in 'Requisition'.

I called for a 2nd gate in 'Green Path' so that we wouldn't have to worry about one skulk being able to take down the gate behind us if one of our pushes failed. Also, on the assault immediately after we built the 2nd gate, two skulks + a fade abandoned the hive to try to destroy the gates behind us - allowing us to kill their hive mostly uncontested. On top of that, with the beacon back to base we were able to even save our original gate in 'Staging'.

This is the part where the sense of urgency really starts kicking in - Simba immediately calls "3 go South" to make a 'Processing' gate and push their 'Relay' hive, while me and Turts establish a gate in 'Requisition.' Good call by tap to drop the Command Chair in 'Requisition' too - it blocks them from redropping the hive and from rushing our main chair, however, there was no need for both of us to build it, so I phased out to help with the push.

For some reason, instead of trying to defend their hive, Wob/Zafod/Tane went on res-biting. I suppose they didn't think we would push so quickly, but I'm still kind of scratching my head. My positioning on that final hive push wasn't great since the rest of my team was all the way south by the RT, but I thought I could pick the fade that Tap said was "SUPER LIT!!!" (he was full hp by the time I got there lol). I guess for one thing though, it allowed the rest of my team to focus the hive while I drew the attention of the defending Aliens.

Now going back to Wob/Zafod/Tane at the time of this final hive push. At the end of the game Tane had life-formed into a Fade, Zafod had 56 p-res, and Wob with 53 p-res. Perhaps the game was already over at this point with all their upgrades being destroyed, but had Tane + Wob gone Fade earlier it might have delayed the hive push enough for Zafod to go Onos.

That game was hella fun though and I wish I could have recorded more of our rounds, but I only set my ShadowPlay to 5 mins and I forgot to press the button. GGs mates!

I'm impressed how you won that in spite of the bad med packs.

Probably some other guy. Great stuff though!
