Season 4 & Custom Map Cup #2 Sign Ups & Feedback
Hope everyone had a great holiday season and is ready to start a new year of Natural Selection 2 competition. We'll be kicking things off with our second custom map cup. The goal of this tournament is to support our community mappers and to find one or two maps, other than the NSL version of official ones, for possible inclusion into Season 4.
The tournament will happen over 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks will be a round robin starting on February 1st and ending on February 9th. Depending on how many teams sign up, each week will consist of 2 matches. The playoffs will happen the following weekend on February 15th and 16th.

If you don't have a team, it's easy to create one with the following steps. If you want to register a pre-existing team, skip to step 4.
- To create a team, register an account and go to Agenda -> Create a new team
- Get your players to register and tell them to Join your team in their Agenda.
- To accept your players on the team, go to Agenda -> Click your team name -> Edit (scroll down) -> Members -> Change their status from Joining to Member, Leader, or Deputee.
- To join the tournament, go to Agenda -> Click your team name -> Edit (scroll down) -> Contests -> Join NSL Custom Map Cup #2 Sign Ups and/or NSL Season 4 Sign Ups.
- Check the sign up list for your team name to see if you've done it correctly.
Please go to this thread and have your feedback for Season 3 and the NSL be heard. Don't miss out on your chance to affect the league.
Sign ups for Season 4 is also open and will tentatively start the weekend of March 8th/9th.
Rules for the custom map cup will be available shortly. Rules for Season 4 will be too, but may be modified as feedback comes in.

Why is there jambi in the custom map cup? We already know it's good.
And maybe add eclipse?

Jambi has over 1 year and 2 seasons of play-testing. Eclipse has had close to zero. I don't know why you are including jambi in there and not eclipse.

I really hope that in S4 you dont mix teams from EU with AUS/KOR because on last cups its been nearly impossible to set a date to play vs them.

Agreed, we've played plenty of Jambi, throw in eclipse so we can see if it's viable for season 4.

recplace jambi with eclipse
i can understand the viewpoint that the mappers want more input but on the other hand when was the lastest complain/bug/fix done to jambi not recently cause its pretty good on most stuff in my opinion
not so sure with that on eclipse balancewise

There's a massive rework/overhaul of fracture incoming within the next two to three weeks. So no need for any of the teams to play the current build on workshop it'll be somewhat irrelevant.
In fact the latest build is not up to game-play standards I'm at all happy with and is actually less fun/balanced than previous builds. Reducing the RT count had much larger implications than I originally had foreseen.
My aim is to make a competitive focused map and I stand by the reasoning and feedback that led me to reduce the RT count from 11 to 10. However my execution of said changes was heavy handed and is the main cause for the latest build being under par.
Sorry for the inconvenience for anyone who played it, but I'm extremely confident the next build will be MUCH better for competitive play. unfortunately teams may not have much time to practice on it.

An another note, seeing as the NS2WC finals are on the weekend 22nd/23rd Feb can we not start S4 the week after? I know it says tentative, just wanted to check :)

Yes, Season 4 will start a week or two after the live event. Might give some viewers, who haven't participated, the impetus to join the league.
