NSL Open #5, Website Situation and Future Events

Update

Congratulations to all participants and especially Why bm? for winning the fourth NSL Open Tournament! There were some great games during this tournament and we hope everyone had fun watching and playing. All skill tiers have been updated by UWE, so the top three teams will now hold their rewards until the next Open Tournament.

Open Tournament #5

Speaking of this, the next Open Tournament will be held in two weeks: Saturday, September 7th at 08:00 PDT / 11:00 EDT / 15:00 GMT / 17:00 CEST with the semifinals and finals being held on Sunday, September 8th at 07:00 PDT / 10:00 EDT / 14:00 GMT / 16:00 CEST (time may change). Signups are now open, so register your team! We will keep you updated about the rules later on.

If you have any feedback regarding the Open Tournament format and frequency, please feel free to share it in the comments below or on discord.

Website Situation

As you may have noticed, the NSL website has suffered a major failure recently. Unfortunately, this failure has caused the loss of a year’s worth of data. We were able to save some of it, such as the Hall of Fame, but most data in the past 15 months, such as the NS2 contest history, has been lost. This also means that if you’ve changed your password in the last year, you will need to use your old password or contact one of the admins to get a new password. Additionally, if your account was created in the past year, you will need to make a new one. In any case, if you have any issues regarding the website please send any admin a message and we will do our best to assist you.

Upcoming Events

As winter is coming, we would like to run another Newcomer Tournament and Draft Tournament right after the next Open Tournament. We may also organize some “medium skill” tournaments or very short seasons that can allow teams to play during the week, so that official play is not restricted to weekends. However, nothing is set in stone yet, and this is why we’re looking for feedback and ideas on potential future events.

Lastly, we are still in need of Referees and Casters to help us handle these events! If you’re interested, feel free to message any admin.
