Three "ensl" teams entered: F4 (jiriki, me, marko, franky and a bunch of other dorks), Sproggalots (GibbZ) and duplex (swalk). F4 folded a couple of days ago because 90% of the players don't like NS2 and would rather play ns gathers or someshit. No idea what's happening with sprogga, if anything. Duplex will probably play from the looks of it.

To answer your question: Yes the tournament is happening, no we haven't entered ("we" meaning a team with you in it).

Yeah I know, but a lot has happened since then. It doesn't really matter though, the team is dead.

I might try to join a some other team before the tournament starts. With playable fps (gotta oc dat cpu) the game is tolerable, if not particularly good. Spawncamping noobs is always fun regardless. No idea who I'd join though, most of the EU teams seem to be run by retards and are full of garbage players.

Fana you may want to checkout duplex pretty decent team that actually wants to win that tournament (if it even succeeds)

Yeah, duplex guys are decent. I'm working some other angles right now, but will ask them if that doesn't work out.

Don't be hating. The tournament should be good, the tourny draft is up right now if you haven't seen it.

It is a mystery!

I actually haven't joined them yet, but I might. How you guys find out about this stuff is beyond me though.

The tournament should be fun. Game still needs a lot of work, but fresh competition -- with decent commentating and a (symbolic) prize! -- is a lot more interesting than the mindless repetition NS tournaments have been the last few years.

yeah symbolic prize pool with good support from their developers are usually around 10k euro and more, that what brings competitive teams to the game and i persoanlly dont see ns2 going any bigger then it's ancestor ns1.

Inversion are clearly favourites to win this. They have the best team even without Fana. I wish you'd join us (duplex) and it might make it a bit closer, but I can't blame you, I'd probably join inversion if I were in your shoes. I feel we need at least 1 more good player to really have a strong team.

Donno why you rejected my steam friends invite though :( I played with you on a pub a few days ago (my nick was ragequitter) and you seem like a really good player. I like playing against good players as it forces me to play better myself. That's why I friend requested.

GL in the tournament regardless. Looking at the draw I can't see inversion having any problems making it to the final.

I doubt teams will play on aussie servers. If anything we'll find something relatively close to both, so probably Team 156s west coast server or whatever teams come to an agreement on.

I don't see why it'd be so difficult, i'm almost certain that's what was already agreed upon if AUS had to play against american teams.

The difference in skill levels is pretty big between most of the teams, so I'm guessing both duplex and inversion will get to the final pretty easily.

I'm not very good though, it's just easy shooting straight walking skulks on public. Need a lot of practice to be able to hit stuff reliably against good players.

No offense on the friends rejection, I basically reject anyone I don't know who is. You can refriend if you want to.

the australians agreed to a 150 ping difference? I don't think you've realized how messed up and complicated online international tournaments are. there's a reason there are no more usa vs europe tf2 matches anymore

on top of that the game is still chock full of bugs and gameplay problems. this tournament is going to be a circus, and I'm going to be watching from the front row. can't wait

high ping + projectiles = rage

actually at a high enough ping even lag compensation starts to give up. In HL it's ~200. In QL it's ~70. Not sure what it is in Source and I'm sure it's terrible in NS2

Depends on the speed of the players and the type of projectiles. I imagine since NS2 is such a slow paced pile of shit full of hitscan, it's not that bad
