Game knowledge question from a newbie: is there a way to identify lifeforms eggs reliable? Or is it just timing, guessing, luck?

On the field - if you have structure hp numbers enabled ( which i personally dont) by hp of the egg
I personally always only tell by the egg icon on the map
Its a different icon than other eggs, very distinct
And the hp is different yes, normal eggs have like 450 or something hp. Lifeform eggs have much much lower (skulk 90 i think?) Gorge lerk fade and onos eggs have a little more hp each)
From comm view the eggs stick out pretty obviously i think(edited)

Lifeform eggs have 180 HP and don't mature, unlike regular eggs.
(Or was it 120?)

maybe starts at 120, but it's +20 per, I'm forgetful

I'm not 100% sure. I just have HP numbers enabled, and when I see an egg with 1xx health it's obviously an easy pick.
